Concerned about its environmental impact and future generations, Hôtel Le Navigateur has a new sustainable development policy aimed at reducing the ecological impact of its activities through the adoption of sustainable and consistent practices. Newly Green Key certified, Hôtel Le Navigateur is committed to reducing and constantly monitoring its ecological footprint.

Organizing eco-responsible events, a housekeeping program on request or during extended stays, donating linen and bedding to community organizations, donating and selling furniture when it is replaced... these are all measures put in place to ensure that future generations can enjoy a green world!

Hôtel Le Navigateur is committed to minimizing its ecological impact on the environment through sustainable and sound practices. This program of ecological actions is to be implemented by all Hôtel Le Navigateur staff members. To fulfill this commitment, employees will strive to do the following:

Measures implemented

Hotel :

  • Use of energy-efficient lighting, energy-efficient light bulbs;
  • Installation of energy-efficient showerheads;
  • Water-saving device installed in toilet tank;
  • Energy-efficient faucets reducing water flow (30% water savings and more);
  • Use of recycling bins in bedrooms, offices, workspaces and public areas;
  • Recovery and recycling;
  • Electronics recovery ;
  • Double-sided printing;
  • Consultation of documents by e-mail and computer to avoid wasting paper;
  • Promotes the sending and use of electronic forms and contracts, as well as the use of electronic e-mail;
  • Purchase from local suppliers;
  • Donation of linen and bedding to local community organizations;
  • Donation and sale of furniture for replacement purposes;
  • Promote sustainable transportation (charging stations).

Housekeeping/maintenance :

  • On-demand or extended-stay (non-daily) housekeeping program;
  • Use of biodegradable cleaning products;
  • Provision of soaps, shampoos and other biodegradable and recyclable items to guests;
  • Use of refillable (not bulk) shampoo and conditioner dispensers;
  • Heating/air conditioning set to minimum when the room is not occupied;
  • Use natural light when cleaning and close lights and curtains when the room is unoccupied;
  • Report any equipment breakage that could jeopardize this policy (leaky faucet, leaky toilet, broken light, leaky refrigerator, etc.);
  • Ongoing maintenance of eco-responsible equipment.

Banquet service/venue rental :

  • Organizing eco-responsible events (zero-waste option);
  • Minimizing and even completely eliminating the use of food and beverages packaged in individual portions;
  • Efficiently managing our food surpluses (donating them to local food banks)
  • Use of disposable and biodegradable plates and utensils;
  • Use of washable tablecloths and napkins;
  • Give preference to locally available products;
  • Tap water service rather than bottled water;
  • Recycling service;
  • Temperature adjustment (heating, air conditioning) carried out by employees only and reduced use when rooms are not occupied;
  • Customer awareness of our eco-responsible program.
